What does the research involve?
ln this project, we seek to understand how mathematics education professors/academics plan for and experience retirement. The purpose of our study is to contribute new knowledge about the experiences of retired mathematics education professors/academics, an understudied group in educational research. The findings may be used to inform current mathematics education professors’/academics’ retirement planning.

Our research questions are:
1) How do mathematics education professors/academics plan for retirement?
2) How do mathematics education professors/academics experience retirement?
3) What aspects of retirement do mathematics education professors/academics find favourable?
4) What aspects of retirement do mathematics education professors/academics find unfavourable?
5) What differences, if any, exist in the lived experiences of retired mathematics education professors/academics from different backgrounds?

Why were you chosen for this research?
You have been chosen to participate in this research project because you are a retired mathematics education professor/academic.
